Who we are and what we do

The Irish Research Council is an associated agency of the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science and operates under the aegis of the Higher Education Authority. The mission of the Irish Research Council is to enable and sustain a vibrant research community in Ireland by supporting excellent researchers across all disciplines and career stages. Among activities undertaken by the Irish Research Council to fulfil its mission is funding excellent research within, and between, all disciplines.
